A great moment of exchange between France and Quebec

Rotaract Sherbrooke member Killian Tagand returns to his home club for a lecture on Quebec.

On March 6th, Killian Tagand, one of our members, had the opportunity to give a conference in front of the members of the Rotary Club de Roanne, in France. A symbolic moment since it was with this club that he co-founded the Interact club of which he was president, before continuing his commitment within Rotaract.

The Rotary Club de Roannefounded in 1948, is a dynamic club located in the Loire, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Active in numerous local and international initiatives, it is also a sponsor of an Interact club and a Rotaract.

The meeting took place at dinner time, around a nice friendly meal that allowed for great exchanges. Killian was particularly happy to see the Roanne Rotarians whom he appreciates and with whom he has shared precious memories.

During this meeting, he first shared his personal and community journey before presenting his province of adoption: Quebec. It was an opportunity for Killian to introduce the history, geography, and cultural richness of our province.

The conference concluded with a presentation of our Rotaract club Sherbrooke, which is currently being established. The members of the Rotary Club of Roanne showed a keen interest. This may pave the way for a new transatlantic dynamic.

A significant moment, filled with memories, gratitude, and lasting connections. Our member had the honour of receiving two pennants from the Rotary Club of Roanne, symbols of this exchange and this Rotary friendship.

A big thank you to Gérard Berthelier, without whom this meeting could not have taken place.
