Book fair

By the Rotary Club of Sherbrooke

From October 17 to 20, 2024, the Rotary Club of Sherbrooke organized a book fair at the Carrefour de l’Estrie, bringing together hundreds of reading enthusiasts around a charitable goal: to sell used books in order to raise funds for charitable works.

For four days, the volunteers from Rotary and Rotaract welcomed visitors who came to browse among thousands of carefully sorted books. Novels, comics, essays, children's books, etc. there was something for everyone and at low prices! This initiative had a dual purpose:

✔ Support a partner club by providing on-the-ground assistance

✔ Raise public awareness by highlighting the actions of Rotary and Rotaract to the visitors of the shopping mall.

Thanks to the generosity of donors and the enthusiasm of volunteers, sales have exceeded expectations, once again demonstrating the public's interest in charitable and cultural events.

The funds raised during this book fair will be directly reinvested in charitable projects led by the Rotary Club of Sherbrooke. This event has helped strengthen the ties between club members and citizens, while raising awareness about the importance of volunteering and community service.

The success of this book fair would not have been possible without the valuable involvement of the members of Rotary and Rotaract, as well as the support of Carrefour de l'Estrie, which allowed us to host this event in a central and accessible location. A big thank you also to everyone who came to buy a book, thus contributing to a great cause while sharing their love of reading.

See you next year for an even bigger and more supportive edition! In the meantime, the Rotary and Rotaract Clubs of Sherbrooke continue their actions in support of the community. Stay tuned for our upcoming initiatives!
